Caterina Capponi is the WP2 leader of the MORE4WATER project. She is an Associate Professor of Hydraulics at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (DICA) of the University of Perugia. In 2017, she completed her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and Innovative Materials (XXIX cycle) with honors. Her dissertation, “Frequency-domain analysis of transients for the diagnosis of pressurized pipe systems”, was partly based on research conducted at the University of Adelaide, Australia, where she spent six months as a visiting Ph.D. student. Her research focuses primarily on transient flow analysis in pressurized pipelines, real-time monitoring technologies and fault detection techniques. She has gained extensive experimental expertise through her work at the Water Engineering Laboratory (DICA). She is the principal investigator of the ongoing PRIN2022 TANDEM project and has participated in over 25 research projects and collaborations with major Italian water utilities, providing technical-scientific consultancy, diagnostic analysis, and innovative solutions for water distribution and transmission systems. She serves as a reviewer for several scientific journals and is co-opted member within the IAHR Working Group on Transient Flows. She has published 59 peer-reviewed articles in international journals, with an H-index of 16 and over 800 citations.
