Maria Cláudia da Silva Antunes de Souza is the WP6 leader of the MORE4WATER project. 

Doctor and Master in “Environmental Law and Sustainability” from the University of Alicante – Spain. Post-Doctoral internship in Law at the University of Alicante, Spain (Scholarship – PDE, Public Call MCTI/CNPq n 14/2023). Master in Legal Science from the University of Vale do Itajaí – Brazil, Graduated in Law from the University of Vale do Itajaí – Brazil. Permanent Professor in the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Program in Legal Science, in the Doctoral and Master’s courses, and in the undergraduate Law Course at the University of Vale do Itajaí – UNIVALI. She is the author and coordinator of over 50 works in the area of Environmental Law and Sustainability, and has also published over 200 scientific articles in books and specialized journals in Brazil and abroad. Coordinator of the Environmental Law, Transnationality and Sustainability Research Group registered with CNPq/EDATS/UNIVALI. Coordinator of the international network research project titled Protagonism and Challenges of Brazilian Cities on Climate Change Mitigations: Construction of Adaptation Strategies, Governance and Environmental Justice – Experiences in Brazil, Mozambique, Colombia, and Spain, Public Call 14 CNPq – International project in progress (2023-…). Coordinator of the research project titled “Technological Contributions of Smart Cities to the Consolidation of Sustainable Cities: Techniques and Methods for Planning Implementation in the Brazilian Context,” through Public Call CNPq/MCTI/FNDCT N 18/2021 (2022- ongoing). Coordinator of the research project approved by CNPQ titled: “Possibilities and Limits of Strategic Environmental Assessment in Brazil and Impact on Port Environmental Management” (2013/2015). Coordinator of the research project approved through Public Call MCTI/CNPQ/UNIVERSAL 14/2014, titled “Comparative Analysis of the Limits and Possibilities of Strategic Environmental Assessment and its Effectiveness with a View to Contributing to Better Environmental Management of Port Activity in Brazil and Spain” (2015/2017). Coordinator of the research project approved through FAPESC – PUBLIC CALL 09/2015 – titled “Limits and Possibilities of Strategic Environmental Assessment and its Effectiveness with a View to Contributing to Better Environmental Management of Santa Catarina’s Port Activity.”
