Welcome to the MORE4WATER Living Lab
The MORE4WATER Living Laboratory is a real-world innovation hub where researchers, utilities, institutions, and communities co-create solutions for sustainable water management. It brings together monitoring, forecasting, legal frameworks, and stakeholder engagement to transform research into practical action.
What is a Living Lab?
A Living Lab is an open innovation ecosystem embedded in a real-life setting. Unlike traditional labs, Living Labs involve end users, institutions, and businesses directly in the development and testing of new technologies, governance models, and services. This collaborative environment allows continuous feedback, ensuring that innovations respond to actual needs, are more effective, and are easier to scale.
Why a Living Lab for MORE4WATER?
The Living Lab supports the core objectives of MORE4WATER:
• Co-designing governance and legal frameworks with utilities and policymakers.
• Engaging stakeholders and communities to ensure research outputs lead to measurable impacts.
• Testing and validating wireless sensor networks (WSN) for water networks and irrigation systems.
• Calibrating and improving the AQUILA model to forecast water availability in aquifers and lakes.
• Developing digital twins of pilot systems to enhance management efficiency and resilience.
By integrating technical innovation, governance, and user feedback, the MORE4WATER Living Lab accelerates the transition from research to real-world application.
Key Activities of the MORE4WATER Living Lab
