MORE4WATER at the 15th Global Leakage Summit

On 2–3 September 2026, Bruno Brunone from the University of Perugia participated in the 15th Global Leakage Summit in London, an international event bringing together water utilities, researchers and technology providers to discuss innovative approaches to water loss reduction, network monitoring and leakage management.

He presented the contribution “Mapping pressure surge source in Water Distribution Networks by low- and high-frequency pressure data”, co-authored by Silvia Meniconi and Caterina Capponi from the University of Perugia, and Lorenzo Tirello and Andrea Rubin from AcegasApsAmga (Hera Group).

The presentation focused on the use of low- and high-frequency pressure measurements to locate the source of pressure surges in water distribution networks, highlighting the potential of advanced pressure monitoring for improving the diagnosis and management of water systems.

The contribution also provided an opportunity to present the activities of the MORE4WATER project, linking advanced monitoring techniques with the project’s broader objective of developing combined monitoring and forecasting approaches for the sustainable management of water resourc

Below are the highlights of the presentation.
